Trunk Show at A Show Of Hands

Trunk Show at A Show of Hands

Happy Fall! My favorite time of the year. I love the cooler weather, which means layers of soft polar fleece and warm mugs of cocoa. AND, holidays! This year, get going on both at my Trunk Show.

On hand there will be loads of comfy warm hats, useful fingerless gloves and snuggly scarves for getting ready for the cooler weather already at our doors. I will also have laptop cases great for gift giving. Purses and bags for all your fall needs.

In addition, at the Trunk Show and until the end of October, A Show of Hands will be collecting coats!

Once again this year, they are collecting coats for the kids who attend the Child and Family Network preschools in Alexandria. Call (703-683-2905) or email the shop and they'll give you a child's name, gender and size. Bring the coat in by the end of October and get a 20% discount on one item at A Show of Hands.

We'll also thank you with a 20% discount on one item to anyone bringing in a new or gently used Halloween costume so the kids from Carpenter's Shelter can enjoy Halloween too!

What: Trunk Show

What's that?? A limited time where you can meet the artist, browse a larger selection of her items than the store might normally carry, sip wine and shop for all occasions in a store that carries local, handcrafted products.

When: Friday, October 19, 6-9pm

Where: A Show of Hands, 2301 Mt. Vernon Ave, Alexandria, VA 22301

Website: www.ashowofhands.biz

This is a great opportunity to get a jump on the cold weather, holiday shopping and just take a break to enjoy the fantastic work local craftspeople make! Hope to see you there! ~Jen

Green Tip~ Multitask Shopping for Fuel Economy

For the next few months, open your eyes to other gift giving in order to save your car, your wallet and your sanity!

At the pizza pallor picking up take out? Pick up a gift card for your son's teacher too.

Going to the farmers market for some apples and squash? Pick up some jars of jam to use as fast hostess gifts later.

At a Trunk Show? Make a list of friends and family and start your shopping in October!

(Couldn't help that one!)

The greater amount of little tasks you can get out of the way now, the less you'll have to do later, when the focus should be eating good food with family, not driving around looking for gifts.
